What do we want students to experience in our Visual Arts programme this year?

And perhaps just as importantly:

This page offers some starting points for reflection, discussion and goal-setting. You don't need to answer every question. Choose the ones that feel useful to you, your classroom or your department.

Begin With the Bigger Picture

The MYP Visual Arts programme is built around inquiry, making, reflection and connections between art and context. Or investigating, developing, creating and responding...as per the MYP criteria.
But what does that actually look and feel like in your classroom? and what are you looking to achieve as a teacher?

The MYP aims to encourage students to:

enjoy lifelong engagement with the arts
explore the arts across time, cultures and contexts
understand the relationship between art and its contexts
develop the skills necessary to create and perform art
express ideas creatively
reflect on their development as young artists
